Chuu is a South Korean singer under BY4M Studio. She is a former member of the girl group Loona and their sub-unit yyxy.
History[]
Reveal through Girl of the Month[]
In LOONA's "Girl of the Month" project, she was the 10th member to be revealed, after Yves. On December 14, 2017 at midnight KST, a picture of Chuu was revealed through LOONA's Twitter with the caption "A mysterious girl, Chuu is coming".[1] On December 27, her solo was released with the title track "Heart Attack" and the 2nd track featuring member Yves.[2]
Debut with yyxy, Debut with LOONA[]
After the last member Olivia Hye was released, the sub-unit for them was confirmed on April 27, 2018 at midnight KST with a teaser titled "youth youth by young". On May 25, the name for the sub-unit was announced to be yyxy, at that it would be featuring Candian artist Grimes. Chuu made their official debut with them in their first Extended Play beauty&thebeat.
After the debut of their last sub-unit it was time for the whole group's debut. On Aug 7, she made her debut with the group as a whole in their "favOriTe" debut[3], and official debut with them in their EP [+ +].
Acting debut, 2019-present[]
On May 2, 2019, it was announced that tvN would be releasing a new show titled "Dating Class". She would play on of the female leads, Han Eun-sol, alongside other idol Jang Gyu-ri of Fromis_9.[4] On March 29, she also made an appearance on "King of the Masked Singer" as well.[5] On July 29, 2020 she released solo OST song "Spring Flower" for the TV show "Into The Ring". As of 9 AM on July 31, her OST hit No.1 on the chartsin 19 countries including Brazil, Finland, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.[6]
